What are Unclaimed Monies?

Outstanding checks that have not cleared the bank because they have been lost or destroyed may be reissued. There is a 30-day waiting period after a check has been issued to request a reissue.

Note: Checks more than six months old are no longer payable but can be reissued to the original owner. View the Stale Dated Checks list in the menu above.

Funds unclaimed for over a year are sent to the State. Search for your property at:

Request a Check Reissue

Failure to provide all required documentation will result in a denial of your request.

For Individuals

  • Original, notarized Unclaimed Funds Claim Form
  • Original, notarized Affidavit of Certification (for Cash Bonds)
  • Clear copy of government-issued ID or Driver's License
  • Address verification (if different from ID)
  • Notarized Power of Attorney (if acting for owner)

For Businesses

  • Original, notarized Unclaimed Funds Claim Form
  • Copy of W-9 with FEIN and current address
  • Original Letter of Authorization on company letterhead
  • Copy of authorized claimant's government ID
  • Copy of Merger or Dissolution articles (if applicable)
