The Clerk's Office is responsible for handling all records associated with juvenile court cases. Delinquency cases relate to any person under the age of 18 who has committed a felony or misdemeanor. Dependency cases relate to juveniles who have been abandoned, abused, or neglected, including children excessively truant from school, persistent runaways, or ungovernable children. Adoption cases handled by the Courts only include those where parental rights have been terminated.
Court Ordered Restitution
Restitution is processed through the Clerk's Office. There is a charge per payment made in accordance with (per F.S. 28.24(26) a). Refer to our Fees and Costs. Payment shall be made by money order, cash and/or certified check. You can mail your payment to the Clerk at P.O. Box 9347, Fort Myers Florida, 33902. Be sure to list the case number on the check or money order. Personal checks and credit cards are NOT accepted.
Records are Confidential
All juvenile records are exempt from public record. Only the juvenile, a representing attorney, a law enforcement agency, or the parents or legal guardians (with proper photo ID) can view juvenile records. No information can be provided over the phone.
Court Hearings
The only Juvenile Assessment Center within the 20th Judicial Circuit is located in Lee County. Juvenile detention hearings are conducted daily at 8:30 a.m. before a circuit judge in the Lee County Justice Center. The Arraignment Court Schedule can be found in the links to the right of the screen.
