Lee County’s court records are now electronically certified

FORT MYERS, FLA. (June 7, 2021) – Customers can now get Lee County’s court records certified by the Clerk’s office from the convenience of their home computer. This new service produces reusable e-certified court records, such as arrest reports, final judgments, and dispositions.

E-certifications are designed to help combat fraudulent documents using encrypted security features to produce secure PDF documents.

“Any customer who cannot visit our office in person can now easily order a certified copy of their court records at leeclerk.org,” said Linda Doggett, Lee County Clerk of the Court & Comptroller.

Customers can purchase e-certified court records for $8 each through the Clerk’s online court case search, matrix.LeeClerk.org. Each non-refundable e-certified document may take up to five minutes to produce before being emailed. The records are available to download for up to 30 days after the purchase is made.

Each e-certified document is issued a digital signature and a custom code to verify its authenticity by the accepting agency. Unlike the wet stamp, e-certified documents can be reused as many times as needed.

A hand-stamped seal may still be used in person to certify other historical and non-digitized court records. Customers can also have a document e-certified in the office or upon request at www.leeclerk.org/recordsrequest. At this time the service is not available for Official Records.

For more information about e-certification or to purchase an e-certified document, visit www.leeclerk.org/ecertify or call 239-533-5000.
