Accreditation team invites public comments about Lee Clerk Inspector General
FORT MYERS, FLA (Oct. 15, 2021) – Public comments are now being accepted about the Lee County Clerk’s Inspector General. The department is undergoing re-accreditation by the Commission for Florida Law Enforcement Accreditation, Inc. to ensure the office has met specific requirements and conforms to professional standards.
Public comments can be emailed to info@flaccreditation.org or mailed to CFA, P.O. Box 1489, Tallahassee, FL 32302.
The public input is part of the on-site assessment conducted every three years by the independent reviewing authority. Accreditation programs have long been recognized as a means of maintaining the highest standards of professionalism.
A team of assessors from the Commission for Florida Law Enforcement Accreditation will arrive Dec. 7, 2021, to examine all aspects of the Lee Clerk Inspector General’s policies and procedures, management, operations, and support services. The Inspector General is required to comply with 46 standards to receive re-accredited status.
The assessors will review written materials, interview individuals, and visit offices and other places where compliance can be witnessed. Once the Commission’s assessors complete their review of the agency, they report back to the full Commission, which then decides if the agency is to retain accredited status.
