The Clerk of the Circuit Court, established by the Florida Constitution of 1838, is the public trustee for the county. The Clerk provides the checks and balances in county government by acting as Clerk to the Board, Clerk to the Court, Keeper of the Public Records, Comptroller and Internal Auditor of county funds. Monthly Caseload Statistics

Under Florida law, e-mail addresses are public records. If you do not want your e-mail address released in response to a public-records request, do not send electronic mail to this entity. Instead, contact this office by phone or in writing. Please refer to the Addresses or Telephone pages for contact information.

Per the Citizens’ Right-to-Know Act (F.S. 907.043) a printed copy of the Pretrial Release Register for Lee County can be obtained at the Lee County Clerk’s Office by requesting it at the Criminal Customer Service counter.  There will be a copy charge per page for the register. See Fees

Restraining Orders*

A restraining order may be obtained through the Domestic Violence Unit, located on the first floor of the Justice Center, 1700 Monroe Street. The telephone number is 533-2884.

Family Court Services*

The Family Court Services program is designed to help individuals who are representing themselves in family law matters. The program is set up to provide service for Lee, Charlotte, Collier, Hendry, and Glades counties. The main office is located in Fort Myers. Satellite offices are currently staffed on a part-time basis in Punta Gorda and Naples.

The Family Court Services staff provides access to the legal system, guidance in understanding court procedures, distribution of family law forms approved by the Supreme Court of Florida or the judges of the Twentieth Judicial Circuit, and notary and copying services.
